Evolved beyond the humans they resemble, the Desidearia fight for their survival against an unnamed organization dedicated to the elimination of their species. In HERETICAL RITES, Pamela Renauld's fame as a supermodel hides her Desidaria identity from the world, but not from Matthew, the fallen pastor who believes the extermination of her kind is the will of God.
Unknowingly, computer genius Evan Janzek finds himself between these two adversaries when his amateur detective work leads him on the serch for the killer of a beautiful Harvard graduate student. Solving her murder may have consequences Evan could never have imagined, as he reluctantly navigates in a world where more than his life is at stake.
SARASOTA'S TEN-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL, 2006-2009
Nineteen of the twenty-six plays produced in competition by Theatre Odyssey in the first four years of Sarasota's Ten-Minute Play Festival are included in this book. The majority of the plays were being produced for the first time, many of them written by playwrights whose works had not previously been seen on stage. However, since their introduction, some have now been produced throughout the United States.
ELMO, MY PET MOUNTAIN LION
What could be more fun than having your own pet mountain lion? Each day when you come home from school you get greeted by not only your father, mother, sister and brother, but by your pet mountain lion, Elmo. Yet, having a pet mountain lion has its problems, especially when he gets hungry.
Written by Dawn Burns, an elementary school teacher in Sarasota, Florida, ELMO, MY PET MOUNTAIN LION, is based on a story told to her in childhood by her father, Donald J. Burns.
